I subscribe with my whole heart to some of the appreciations written before me, like "stunning" and "haunting". Those are indeed the first things that come to my mind when watching this photo.
Now, if I had to define exactly what I like about it, I wound say that it is mysterious. Very mysterious.
Alice is "frozen" and somehow seems to be in a trance, stunned herself, and her state of wonder is transmitted to us. She is obviously older than the "real" Alice, and that amplifies the strangeness of the photo. Also, the tall and slim trees (just like Alice) give a feeling of uncertainty (on a subconscious level they seem unstable, in danger of falling) and take our spirit to greater and more mysterious heights.
And yet, all this strange mystery is increased by the strong white light which covers most of the image, but this time it is a positive, happy ("light-hearted"

mystery. Still a mystery, though, but in the good tradition of Leelloor, a happy and luminous one.
